Week 36

OK so last Monday was a blast! After we left the library, we went to Zachary to hang out with the other missionaries from around the area! We all met at a park for a lunch picnic, and to play Volleyball in the sand court, which was super fun! Then we hung out and talked until we all headed to our dinner appointments. We had a good dinner at a members home that night! And that concluded Monday night.  On Tuesday we had District meeting up at the pride building, which was way fun we did the normal things and then played a cool card game called the "voting game" and it was fun because we got to know the district members way better!! After that elder Bennett and I went to lunch at Cane's which is a way good chicken finger place!!! Then we went tracking, which is always interesting, after that we hung out I read a book and did much of nothing until it was sleep time!

Wednesday... see the problem we hit with week was, we have a mileage limit and we were real close to that limit and so it makes it real hard to get around when you can't drive the car, so in the morning we did studied had lunch and then a crazy old guy picked us up to go help him move some plants to his girlfriends house, which was weird in the first place!!!!! Once we were done with that, we had a meeting up at the pride building and dinner up there too!  On Thursday we had weekly planing which takes a good min to get through so once we did that we went tracking before our dinner appointment. It was way cool we came to this one house, that looked a little run down and we went to the door and I knocked and we waited there then knocked again, and then this girl came to the door could not be older the 17 and then I told her the the usual thing and then it hit me that this family needed my help, so we talked and she told us that her mom and dad will be home latter so we told her we would come back latter! Now I don't know what I felt but I hope I will be able to help them!! After that we went to our dinner appointment, which was a blast!

Friday, was full of much of nothing, we had a dinner appointment that fell through so we just hung out because we have no miles so I read my books and found dinner somewhere. On Saturday, it was storming real hard so we stayed inside until it blow over, then we went tracking, and then saw some less actives, which is all ways fun after that we went to Walmart to find something for dinner then we headed back home for the night! Sunday!!!!! We got up way to early to get to the meeting  we needed to be at for some reason! Then church started and it was cool because we had two investigators there with us, and that stayed all three hours and had a good time, and the funny part is that we told them the we would go to their church next week, so we will see how that goes!!!! After church we went back to the Apt and we stayed there because nether of us felt good, and that was the end if the week for us!

Anyway love you all and  know for yourself' what you want in your life and go get it, stop sitting around and waiting for it to come to you, because it won't come!

Week 34 and 35

Hey everyone,

What a crazy past two weeks, let me start with the end of Baton Rouge, so we had transfers, and I knew I was leaving, but I did not know where I was going!!! On Tuesday we were supposed to be  going to go a LSU Baseball game but it got rained out :(  so we went around the ward so I could say goodbye to the people that I have come to love <3. Then I packed up all of my crap, and wow I have too much crap!!!! But thanks to this super nice sister in the Baton Rouge ward she got me some new suitcases so I could get around easier. Don't get me wrong I had great suitcases but they were too small and this member just bought me a 3 piece set, so i just upgraded, and a big thanks to her for doing that! After I got all my things into something, we loaded up the car to head to the church to find out where I was was going.  At the church I was told that I am was going to Pride, Baton Rouge, which borders my last area, so I didn't move too far, which is good because I did not want to be too far from my friend/friends, but I am up here in the Pride area with the pride ward, which has like 60 members on a good day!!!
I am here with Elder Bennett, and he's a way cool kid from LA CA, and he's been out for about 20 months, so far we are doing good together. The only problem I had was the apartment, it's crap! Ok Ok it's not that bad I just went from a nice one to a not so nice one! It was pretty dirty when I got there so I had to do some major cleaning and throwing away, but now it's clean and I am willing to live there. The ward I came into is one of he best wards here, they are super nice and they feed us really well, they all know how to cook. It was funny we got a call Saturday night  from one worried Brother Thibidaux, who is the second counselor in the bishopric,  and his speaker for Sunday called and she could not give her talk so he was asking/telling us to give a talk in the morning! We did and it was good but it was fun I and I tried to just wing it with some thoughts on a piece of paper, and it went really well!

Ok this week, so Monday after we got off the computers, we headed over to Denham Springs for an elders birthday, we hung out at a park and had fun then we went to Wendy's because we were hungry, and we sat there way too long, until it was time to go to our dinner appointment, which ended up being at Wendy's, yep. On Tuesday we had to get up early and head out to Hammond for Zone Conference which was fun I guess! It was just super long and on the way home and I was stressed out because I was pushing for time and we got lost and we had interviewer with president, which for some reason is stressful! But once we finally got home, we had a member pick us up for a LSU baseball game, because the one I was going to go to last week got rained out so we got to go then, and wow that was way fun, the game was way good. I got to hang out with my most favorite kid in the world, I got to eat good food, and it was justs all together a good experience! And LSU WON!!!! One thing about the south is I have become an LSU fan, it justs happened!
Wednesday was a crazy day, we got up and then went to help this crazy old guy move all of his really big and heavy furniture into the garage, and that lasted a long time, and I am very sore because of the said furniture! After that we had a dinner appointment that was way good, then a meeting after that which was OK. and on to Thursday! So there is a new rule out here that says if any missionary gets into a car crash of any sort, for the next two days after that no one can drive their car!  Someone got into an accident and as a result we could not drive our car, and we can't really ride our bikes in this area, for other reasons, so we could not do anything, and we did just that, nothing!
Friday was  fun we went to go see some less actives which was fun to get to know more people in the area, after that we had dinner with the Stevens, and the Stevens are the best! We had a good night with them, and then onto Saturday, and we had a way good lesson with one of our investigators, and he will becoming to church this Sunday, in return we will go with him to his church the week after so we will have to see how that goes! We spent the rest of the day with a member in Zachery!!! And then Sunday, we go up way to early so we could make it to our meetings in the morning, and I am not to big of a fan of these meetings, they are long and to early! Then we had regular church after that, where my Northwest accent, and my talking way to fast got me into trouble while saying the sacrament prayer.  But I made it on the 4th try! haha, Then we had just an ok day it was long, we went to the Stevens for dinner again! and then now!!!!!!! anyway I love y'all and I hope for the bast for all!

Week 33

Not much happened this week, just the same old thing going on. We went to the state capitol on Monday, which was way cool because the Louisiana State Capitol is 460′  tall which is crazy because, it is the tallest building in LA. Then we went to sportsplex which had volleyball, tennis and basketball which was way fun to play with our district and the Spanish district!! We had ZTM Friday and it was kinda fun, they came out with a bunch of new rules, that seem kinda pointless, but there is always a reason for them right?
Fast Sunday, was yesterday like always and it was cool because our friend Emmitt wanted to come to church with us, and he enjoyed it and had some good comments in 3rd hour, but for the most part my life down here is the same. We have transfers tomorrow and Wednesday, so I am kinda nervous to see if I stay or if I go.  If I go, I am nervous about where I am going... but anyway hope y'all have a good week also.

Love,
Elder Gordon
